3. Category-B Eligibility & Priority Rules

As mandated by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), colleges must prepare a fair merit list. Admission priorities must strictly follow this order:

Priority 1
NRI Candidates: Genuine NRI students who satisfy the statutory proof requirements.
Priority 2
JEE Main Rankers: Candidates who qualified and obtained a valid rank in the national JEE Main exam.
Priority 3
TG EAPCET (EAMCET) Rankers: Candidates with a valid state EAPCET rank.
Priority 4
10+2 Intermediate Marks: Candidates with a minimum of 45% aggregate in group subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) in Board of Intermediate Education or equivalent.

4. TAFRC Regulatory Warning against Capitation & Donations

Anti-Capitation Fee Act

Under the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, colleges are strictly prohibited from demanding or collecting any extra donation, premium, or capitation fee for Category-B admissions.

Important Warning: If any middleman or college management demands heavy cash payments for "booking" CSE or AIML seats, students can report them to the TAFRC grievance portal. Admissions without publication of a transparent merit list are liable to be cancelled by TSCHE.

FAQs on Management Quota B.Tech Admissions

Do I need to qualify EAPCET to get a Category-B seat?
No, you do not need an EAPCET rank to secure a Category-B seat, provided you have at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in your class 12 group subjects. However, candidates with valid JEE Main or EAPCET ranks will be given higher preference in the merit list.
Are Category-B students eligible for government Fee Reimbursement?
No, students admitted under Category-B (Management Quota) or NRI quota are not eligible for the Telangana government's Fee Reimbursement (RTF/MTF) scheme. The full fee must be paid by the student directly.
When does the Management Quota application start?
Colleges usually start inviting online applications for Category-B seats after the release of intermediate results and the first phase of EAPCET counselling. Notifications are published in major newspapers and on respective college websites.
